What are the limits on evalid in terms of testing a web application? I mean, are there ANY websites that eValid simply cannot test?

Very good question and yes, there ARE websites that eValid simply can't deal with in an effective way.

If a web application is "broken" in that it throws errors either with internal scripting or with page delivery, then eValid is ineffective. But that's not an issue because the use of eValid to arrive at that point shows that it has served its purpose.

There are some web applications where some of the special anti-spinning features of the IE browser allow the pages to appear to work OK, whereas in eValid you get a Script Error message -- or in some cases, because of a JavaScript look you get no behavior at all. These pages are rare but we have encountered them, to be sure.

Finally, now and again we find a web application or a web site where the correspondence between eValid and the underlying IE browser is off, and in these cases we scramble our resources quickly and fix that kind of problem immediately. But, this has happened to eValid only one or two times in the prior three releases -- so it is quite rare.
