http vs Loadrunner vs eValid

Discussion of the technology underlying the eValid solution.

http vs Loadrunner vs eValid

Postby swtesting » Fri May 30, 2008 4:38 pm

There is version of LoadRunner used in RIM today. The problem with
LoadRunner is that it can do load testing on our application - by
Intercepting HTTP request and response - so it does simulate the load on
the server correctly. However - the Ajax mode/protocol they have does
not work correctly with our application - so browser side can not be
tested.

Depending on requirements from the Load Testing and Operations teams -
we may or may not be able to use LoadRunner.

Thanks for the update on this. I think I may have responded,
but if not here is the observation...

Yes, the HTTP/S record/replay will exactly reproduce the
captured sequence, so yes the load will be identical to
what eValid produces. But for an AJAX application that
sequence is dynamic...and differs every time you perform
the actions. We can't imagine you would capture those
changes short of actually building a full browser, but
eValid already does that.

We are aware of the uphill battle that happens when this
kind of situation arises, and we are a small company...but
rest assured that we will give you every support we can
on this...
