The main reason for this is that Windows actually is the predominant machine on which people view web applications, historically.

While there may be a lot more types of machines around at present, the capability of eValid to pretend to be another browser type -- from a Windows platform -- makes it possible for eValid to handle 99.99% of the web application testing needs from that one base platform.
