Yes, eValid "mimics" the IE browser that is installed on the machine where eValid is installed.
It does this by using the DLLs for that copy of IE for all of the browsing work.
So if you have IE7 on your machine it'll behave like IE7, and if you have IE8 installed, it'll emulate IE8.
Sorry, because of the way eValid is built, there's no way to emulate IE8 on a machine where IE7 is installed.
However, if you make a virtual machine, install IE8 there, then when you run eValid on the virtual machine it'll behave like IE8.
