Hey there.

What is the difference between Restore and Maximize?

Also, is it possible in eValid to change the size of a window on the fly?

Thanks

Good question VHomeier

In the command: "Restore wid" restore means to return the selected window, indicted by "wid" to the size it last was before it was minimized.

On the other hand, the command: "Maximize wid" disregards the original (before minimization) size and opens the window to as large as possible on the screen you are working on.

Now, if you recorded on a small screen and play back on a large screen the actual size (in pixels) of the maximized window on the large screen is going to be much bigger than the original small screen.

This means that Application Mode operations like "screen capture" will produce must different results.

Some users want to control the size of the windows to overcome problems in playback screen size, and you can do this with these commands:

Resize wid w h - were the first command resizes the named to be w pixels wide and h pixels high

Repositon wid x y - the window is moved so that upper left corner of the window is position at the x (horizontal) and y (vertical) position from the upper left of the screen, which is (0,0).

Hope this helps!
