Questions about eValid and the support of other browsers

Postby Klarissa » Tue Oct 20, 2015 8:55 am

Morning

A few questions I need some clarification:

1) Does eValid alter IE11 in any way?

2) Does eValid support other browsers?

Thanks

Thanks for asking Klarissa.

eValid does not alter IE11 in any way.

Think of eValid and IE11 as parallel desktop applications, both of which access the same underlying DLLs that contain the rendering engine.

So what you see on eValid is the same as IE's version of things.

Well, eValid is a Windows based engine...but it has the capability to emulate/imitate ANY other browser by setting a different User Agent String.

Here is the manual page for this:

http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documen ... ation.html

This way, an eValid launched sub-browser will produce responses from the server AS IF from the newly declared browser type.

If you want your whole session to have an altered user agent string, you can do this by launching eValid from the command line, using the -AGENT option/parameter in your batch file, as described here:

http://www.e-valid.com/Products/Documen ... rface.html
