Where does eValid stand relative to the WebDriver solution that is currently being discussed at W3C.
http://www.w3.orgLooking forward to your response.
Hey Rochelle:
What the WebDriver system is trying to do is the same kind of thing that eValid has been doing for almost a decade: use the browser as the basis for doing tests of web applications.
eValid is a privately built, proprietary solution. WebDriver is crowd-sourced and has been in some kind of development since mid 2008 -- earlier if you count some of the open-source predecessors.
The W2C standard-setting activity is, we believe, an important one. We considered joining that working group, but for various reasons it was decided that we would not be able to, but we do follow the activities closely.
We believe that when W3C arrives at the point where it declares a standard there will be nearly a 100% correlation between functions in the W3C standard and what has existed in eValid for a long time.
