Can I create a script that usings multi recording modes

How to apply eValid to functional testing of web applications.

Can I create a script that usings multi recording modes

Postby PeggyB » Mon Mar 10, 2014 11:01 am

Afternoon:

I want to know if I can mix "natural recording" and "Application Mode" recording in the same script?

How do I do that?

Thanks

Afternoon PeggyB. Thanks for posting this interesting question.

In addition to its ability to record/play/analyze web-faced applications, eValid includes a capability to record non-browser applications, and also desktop objects.

Please see:

Here is a simple chart showing the transition between normal eValid recording and the various "special modes" that are available:

The key to choosing the right mode to use at any one instant is to observe what is written to the eValid Script file as you are making the recording. If you take an action and nothing is recorded...that's is a clear signal to "change recording modes."

Here is a page that shows how to lay out key eValid windows (Script Window, Dashboard, PageMap, eValid itself) to make recording
as easy as possible:

At the end of the day, your experience with your own application will be the best teacher.
